SOW'S EAR SUGAR 'N SPICE

(Mill Mountain Masquerade X  Sow's Ear Phoenix)

(11.75" tan/white rough)

Spice is the daughter of the 2007 National Working Terrier Champion Mill Mountain Masquerade.  We are impressed with her prey drive and are looking forward to getting her into the field.  Spice is currently co-owned with Melissa Taylor.

Spice whelped some beautiful puppies (2 males and 1 female) on June 3rd sired by Towery Pines Trouble.  We are excited about this cross!

Towery Pines Callie Mae

(Popeye of Towery Pines X Old Glory Fritter)

12", black/white, rough

Callie is our most reliable hunting dog.  With a tiny, tiny chest and a "no quit" attitude, she can and will go anywhere the quarry will.  She is strongly Meynell bred.

Conformation Achievements:

Best 4-6 month puppy under Nancy Breakstone at Carolina's Spring Classic.

Best 4-6 month puppy under Jeff Rowe in TN.

Multiple class wins.

Hunting trip in Elk River, NC in summer '07.  This is Carol and Callie on the left and Scott Hammer with Belle Star on the right.  Callie and Belle Star worked hard to corner this baby groundhog and Scott and I worked hard to move all the hay and tobacco sticks in the barn so we could get to the dogs.  It was a lot of work for such a little groundhog.  (This groundhog was released unharmed.)

Little Eden Scurry

(Little Eden Strut x Little Eden Cover Girl)

(13" tri broken)

Scurry placed Best Open Bitch and took Reserve Open Terrier (she was runner up to Towery Pines Trouble) at Carolina March Madness '08.  Thanks Kris Fierst for this beautiful terrier!

Woohoo!!!  Puppies sired by Mountain Legends Toby arrived on May 23rd!  This is a cross we were looking forward to when we got Scurry.  We have 2 females and 1 male.  All three puppies look like dandies!  Keep watching for updated pictures!

 Silver Valley Spry

(Fox Run Chat x Silver Valley One)

(12", tricolor, broken)

Spry is a great little terrier!  She has an awesome temperament and a personality to match.  Spry has a tiny chest, perfect for all those groundhog holes!  She's intelligent and very easy to live with.   Spry produced our Towery Pines Dilemma who won Best Bitch Puppy and Puppy Champion at the Carolina March Madness '08.

 Hart Farms Hassle

(Firestorm Blast x Shingle Oak Jordan)

(11.25" tri rough)

This is Emily (9) showing in the Child handler at  Yuletide in December 2007.   Hassle is a tiny package.  She exhibits a strong prey drive.  We are looking forward to taking her on some hunting trips and getting her a working certificate.

We were in West Virginia on a hunting trip with Cheryl Hart in June.  We took Hassle and Trouble and had a great time!  Hassle was pretty hesitant on Friday, but Saturday she really got turned on!  She was checking out every hole she came to.  She got in a set of juveniles and had a ball.  We have some pictures of 2 groundhogs trying to "get out."   We had a shovel in the hole and they are both trying to get out around it.  The groundhog would come out one hole and back in another with Hassle following right behind.  It was hilarious to watch.  We did not get a NHC that trip, but I'm sure it won't be long!  Thanks for the fun and education, Cheryl!!
